Periklis Alkidis

Pericles Alkidis , born in Athens – Greece, 1953. He studied Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Parallel to his professional carrier mostly as a medical imaging engineer, he was seriously involved with photography as a personal need for expression. His first serious attempt to photograph was in 1980-81 with the series “Army portraits” during the period of his military obligations. He is more recognized for his ongoing life project which is broadly entitled “Family Portraits” (1986 – 2016), a conscious autobiographic exploration of personal identity. He has extensively shown his work in solo and group exhibitions. Member of the Photography Centre of Athens since 1987.
