Ben Rivers is a British filmmaker and visual artist known for his haunting 16mm films that blend documentary and fiction, exploring environmental collapse, utopia and dystopia. His triptych Urthworks (Slow Action, Urth, Look Then Below) presented at Biennale 9 spans real and fabricated landscapes across Japan, Tuvalu, Lanzarote, Arizona and Somerset. His new film Mare's Nest, drawing from Don DeLillo's work, was screened at the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in collaboration with Biennale 9.
