Yasmine Djédjé-Fisher-Azoumé is a French-Ivorian artist whose work explores diasporic female identity through animation and film. Her film Dédé (Ancestor) (2025), presented at Biennale 9, features animated copper relief engraving and takes viewers on a journey into the feminine cosmology and folkloric traditions of the Ivory Coast and the Bété tribe, guided by fertility carvings, masks, sculptures, mythological fables and deities.
